Group Therapy Schedule:
Adult DBT/ACT Groups: 8:30 AM – 10 AM (Every Tuesday)
Adolescent/Child DBT/ACT Groups: 3:30 PM – 5 PM (Every Wednesday)
Group Therapy Treatment Focus:
Groups Therapies are modified to meet the needs of the clients. Our therapists do consultation with a board certified psychiatrist to explore additional services if needed. Some of the treated conditions include the followings:

Group Therapy Techniques:
Multiple therapy techniques and modalities are used in the Group Therapy sessions to achieve the maximum benefits. Our therapists heavily use the following modalities:
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT):
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a form of cognitive behavioral psychotherapy that encourages accepting negative thoughts and suffering while also being committed to make positive changes. Guided by the client’s personal values, a direction of change will be identified and encouraged throughout treatment. The goal of ACT is to allow the client to be more familiar with and accept the thoughts and feelings they are having as opposed to the ones they “supposed to” have. ACT is often used with individuals with anxiety, depression, self harm behavior, obsessive compulsive disorder, phobias, substance use, chronic pain.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT):
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified version of CBT which encourages a client to focus on self-acceptance. Instead of only focusing on what needs to be “fixed,” The term dialectics refers to the goal of establishing an acceptance of harmful thoughts/behaviors while also promoting positive change. Positive change is encouraged through educating the client on mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. Homework, including diary cards to monitor thoughts and use of skills, is typically used. DBT has been proven to be an effective treatment for individuals with Borderline Personality Disorder, self harm behavior, Bipolar Disorder, Substance Use Disorder, and other mental health disorders.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT):
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is based on the notion that negative thoughts directly affect our emotions, which in turn lead to negative actions. By recognizing maladaptive thought patterns, the client becomes more able to challenge irrational thoughts, increase the ability to think clearly, thus increasing the likelihood of responding in a more effective manner. Clients collaborate with a therapist in identifying negative thoughts about self and the world and challenging these beliefs. CBT interventions may be used in individual and/or group sessions. CBT is an evidenced-based treatment approach that has been used to treat individuals with depression, anxiety, insomnia, bipolar disorder, and other mental health issues.
